SKM on track
Investment in rail infrastructure is growing to meet existing and future capacity for freight and passenger movements.
In Sydney, SKM is working on two alliance projects for the Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDC) to improve the capacity and reliability of the city's metropolitan rail network. Part of the Rail Clearways Program, the A$600 million Kingsgrove to Revesby Quadruplication will double the track arrangement from two to four over a crucial 7.5-kilometre section, while the Richmond Line project provides a duplicated track to deliver improved peak hour capacity.
We have worked closely with our client ARTC on a range of rail efficiencies in New South Wales' Hunter Valley to support coal export through the port of Newcastle and the establishment of standard gauge passing lanes between Melbourne and Junee on the North-South Rail Corridor.
In Melbourne, SKM has received praise for the revised track work scheme developed for the Craigieburn Stabling Yard that will enable improved efficiencies in morning peak services.
