Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission – Project Implementation Assistance

Sinclair Knight Merz was contracted to assist Project Management Office (PMO) of the Pasig River Rehabilitation Commission with the improvement of environmental management of the Pasig River basin in Metro Manila, particularly regarding wastewater management and urban renewal.  The is providing institutional strengthening (ie strengthening project management capabilities including overall project coordination and implementation); providing a focus on interagency issues such as the interface between environment and urban management; and assisting in the sanitation component, including design and contract documentation.

The four main components of the PIA were:

• Project management and coordination (planning, budgets inter-agency integration) 
• Financial management (accounting systems, financial and economic analysis) 
• Wastewater management (establishing permit systems, maintenance systems and community involvement)  
• Sanitation component (project management of septage treatment plans and associated construction activities)
