Our Commitment

SKM recognises that fostering and promoting a preventative EHS&C culture is a fundamental basis for improving overall performance and results in the long term, particularly in the Resources market.

The ability to manage workplace safety effectively has become one of the highest expectations placed on business by today’s society. SKM has long held the view that safety is critical to business success and as a result has a growing international reputation for implementing innovative safety management strategies.

SKM has established the Safety Performance Group as part of our efforts to provide a “Zero Harm” working environment for our employees, contractors, clients and members of the community.

This Group provides an extensive range of practical and cost-effective Occupational Health and Safety solutions to client companies.

There is increasing community recognition of the influence of globalisation and economic reform and concern that it is occurring at the expense of social and environmental factors.

In honouring our commitment to being a good corporate citizen and an industry leader in corporate policy and practice, SKM provides support to three major organisations, the Beacon Foundation, RedR (Registered Engineers for Disaster Relief) and the Living Works Program (in the Pilbara region of Western Australia).

Another aspect of corporate social responsibility is the need to meet client and community requirements for the services we provide and, where possible, to exceed client and community expectations.

To enhance our services to the community, SKM employs a professional Indigenous Affairs Advisor. This advisor provides guidance internally and to our clients on integrated community employment, training strategies and policies within a framework for the advancement of indigenous people, their communities and organisations.
